Tribal Wars…

Ahh back to this game again. Back to the grind of farming for months on end to then be wiped out in the space of 30 seconds. Ahhh yes, a game to love.

Basically for those of you that have no idea what im on about here is a brief (well I plan on it being brief. But I have some time on my hands so strap yourself in!) explanation on what this game is.

Tribal Wars is a browser based game in which you have start off with a tiny little village… Basically a small hut in a big world.

The aim of the game is to basically own a certain percentage of the world between you and your fellow tribe mates.

TW2

To achieve this one must build their village, build and recruit troops, upgrade and basically repeat until you are strong enough to take a second village…

And so on and so on…

All isn’t as fun as it may seem (if any of the above seems remotely fun) as to stay strong and build quick you must farm the living shit out of the game.

Farming is simple – attack nearby villages or empty villages to plunder their resources.

Now doing this once or twice is a piece of cake, a thirty second job. But to grow as quick as the top players you must farm like your mortgage depended on it! I mean hundreds if not thousands of villages a day and to this, unless im missing a trick, takes up every single last second of the day. I mean, no job, no friends and maybe a drip feeding you nutrients incase you need to eat – which Ive checked and it is essential for a human to eat or drink…

However it is possible to play casually, now and then but the likelihood is that your village wont be around for long so a good check every hour or so is ideally needed to stay alive and get going in this game… Which takes some time…

Im really selling this to you arent I?

The game is simple however and it doesn’t take long to pick it up. Basically build, farm, build, farm repeat and then eventually move on to a second, third, forth village etc etc.

Its a good game, simple but good and worlds can last for over a year which sometimes becomes a little hard to stay interested in especially when you find yourself setting an alarm for 3am to send out attacks just to time your shit right!

There are a few bad parts about the game though. There’s always those players that play religiously, they take the world by storm and with all games its possible to pay for an easier ride.

The other thing that can get a little tedious is the time it takes to upgrade building and recruit troops. At early stages and low levels of your building it should only take 5-10 minutes for an upgrade but further on in the game we are talking 24-48 hours for one upgrade… Thats alot of waiting around!

TW3

Talking about time the whole “currency” of the game is in iron, wood and clay and this also takes time to generate. The higher your production level the more you get per hour but this is the basis on what you upgrade everything with so waiting for this to generate can be a pain in the arse – this is where farming comes in to it so like I’ve said, it can take alot of time.

But hey, its a game and if you enjoy it when give it some time!

You get to know other people… You know because sometimes speaking to someone who you will never speak to or meet in real life is fun… Especially when you end up taking orders from some pre-pubescent army man who thinks they were in Vietnam…

So im going to plan on keeping a few logs on how things are going, probably weekly, maybe every Thursday night as that is when I first started the world and hopefully things will get… Interesting… Are you guys even awake?! Hellooo…

If anyone is playing or has played before let me know what you think but for now I’ve got send some troops out to steal some wood…
